Eng Kiat Tan has extensive experience in the investment and finance industry. Eng Kiat is currently working as the Lead Portfolio Manager of Investment Research and Strategy at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) since October 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles at GIC, starting as a Risk Manager from April 2005 to March 2008. Eng Kiat then served as a Portfolio Manager, Vice President for the Currency Overlay department from April 2008 to March 2014, where they were responsible for tracking currency market themes, developing valuation frameworks, and recommending currency overlays. From April 2014 to September 2021, Eng Kiat Tan held the position of Portfolio Manager, Senior Vice President, overseeing equity and currency overlay strategies, conducting research, and developing rebalancing strategies for multi-asset portfolios. Before joining GIC, from 1999 to 2005, they worked as a Project Manager at DSTA.
Eng Kiat Tan earned a Master of Arts - MA degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Cambridge between 1993 and 1996. Prior to that, they attended Hwa Chong Junior College from 1991 to 1992. Eng Kiat Tan later pursued a Master of Engineering - MEng degree in the same field from the University of Cambridge between 1996 and 1997.
