Andres Navarro

Andres Navarro has over 14 years of work experience in the technology industry. Andres is currently working as a Lead Engineer at MongoDB, starting in March 2021. Prior to that, they spent five years at Oracle as an Engineering Team Lead, where they managed a team responsible for various applications and APIs. During their time at Oracle, they led the migration of a micro-service architecture to Docker containers deployed to Kubernetes, improving monitoring and alerting systems to minimize outages and incident resolution time.

Before joining Oracle, Andres served as the Director of Engineering at AddThis, starting in August 2014 and ending in April 2016. Andres was responsible for leading the AddThis Website Tools engineering team, which developed the AddThis Pro dashboard in React, as well as multiple high-load low-latency APIs in Java. Andres also built the AddThis Pro subscription-based recurring billing system and implemented REST APIs to serve URL share counts using Hydra and Cassandra.

Prior to their role as the Director of Engineering at AddThis, Andres worked as a Software Engineer at the same company from May 2012 to August 2014. Andres developed the web UI for Hydra, an open-source distributed querying and job processing system. Additionally, they implemented a URL recommendation API used in AddThis related post website tools.

Andres began their career at Booz Allen Hamilton as an Associate, where they worked from August 2009 to May 2012. Andres also gained experience as a Summer Analyst at Citi and Goldman Sachs during the summers of 2008 and 2007, respectively.

Andres Navarro obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Miami. Andres pursued their education from 2005 to 2009, focusing on the field of study of computer engineering.
