Siyuan Zhou

Siyuan Zhou has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Siyuan currently serves as a Lead Engineer at MongoDB, where they lead the server replication team and focuses on consensus and consistency. Siyuan has been instrumental in developing a new reconfiguration protocol for the MongoDB replication system, utilizing TLA+ and model checking. Prior to this role, Siyuan worked as a Software Engineer at MongoDB, contributing to various projects such as introducing distributed transactions and enhancing the Raft consensus protocol. Their work on Raft was published at NSDI'21.

Before joining MongoDB, Siyuan worked as a Research Assistant at New York University, where they contributed to the development of a geo-distributed storage system called Lynx. Siyuan also worked on natural language processing (NLP) research during their time at NYU.
