Jorge De La Espada has held various roles in their work experience. Jorge started their career in 2012 as an Oiler at Cheng Cheng Shipping S.A, where they were responsible for cleaning, repairing, and assisting the engineer. In 2013, they worked as a Second Engineer/Oiler at Sea Energy S.A, performing general maintenance and assisting the engineer with fault detection. From 2013 to 2016, they served as a Second/First Engineer Officer at TJMS, overseeing operational responsibilities and performing inspections. In 2016, they worked as an Engineer Officer at Atlantic Cruising Company and as a Maintenance Technician at Easterns Automotive Group. In 2017, they were a Maintenance Technician at Hertz Car Sales. In 2018, they held roles as an Operador Externo at Valley Rise Investment Corp, a First Engineer at Flotaing Accomadations/Atlantic Cruise Company, and a Mechanical Technician at First Quantum Minerals. Since 2019, they have been working at Monjasa, initially as a Second Engineer and currently as a Chief Engineer.

Jorge De La Espada attended Universidad Maritima Internacional de Panama from 2007 to 2011 and earned a degree in Ingeniería Nautica especilidad en maquinaria naval, specializing in Ciencias del mar/Marina mercante.
