Murtuza Merchant has a diverse work experience. Murtuza co-founded Monk Commerce in 2021 and is currently serving in that role. Prior to that, they worked at KreditBee from 2018 to 2021 as a Product Manager, where they collaborated with various teams to launch a lending platform for working professionals. In 2017, they were a Digital Marketing Intern at ZestMoney, where they successfully handled digital marketing brand campaigns and increased revenue through social media campaigns. In 2016, Murtuza worked as a Business Development and Operations Intern at Houssup.com.

Murtuza Merchant completed their Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee between 2014 and 2018. Prior to that, they attended PACE Academy from 2012 to 2014 for their high school education, focusing on Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. From 2000 to 2012, they studied at Chavara High School, where they completed their Matric and received Basic Skills and Developmental/Remedial Education for high school.
