Senior Software Engineer at Monolith AI

Owen Walton has worked for a variety of companies since 2011. Owen began their career as a Research Assistant at The Institute of Cancer Research in 2011, followed by an Undergraduate Research Assistant role at the same company in 2012. In 2013, they took on a Biology Department Summer Research Studentship (BBSRC funded) at the University of York, where their research project focused on TIRF microscopy techniques for single molecule visualisation of cross membrane Colicin transport in E. Coli. In 2015, they took a career break to travel and volunteer, followed by a 7 month contract as a Fuelling & Sustainability Officer at Ofgem. From 2016 to 2018, they worked at the Timber Trade Federation as a Sustainability and Supply Chain Manager and Research & Communications Executive. In 2018, they joined the Kubrick Group as a Data Engineer/Web Developer, and in 2020 they began working as a Full Stack Engineer at Monolith AI.

Owen Walton's education history includes attending Overton Grange Comprehensive School from 2003 to 2010, followed by the University of York from 2011 to 2014, where they obtained a BSc in Biology with a Biochemistry Specialism. In 2017, they enrolled in Udacity's Introduction to Programming Nanodegree, which they completed in 2018. In 2019, they studied Machine and Deep Learning A-Z at Udemy. Currently, they are enrolled in CS50's Introduction to Computer Science course. Additionally, they obtained Chain of Custody Training from the Forest Stewardship Council International (Bonn) in December 2016.
