Tilmann Oestreich has been working in the engineering field since 2000. Tilmann began their career with an apprenticeship as a Toolmaker at BALDA Werkzeug- und Vorrichtungsbau GmbH from 2000 to 2002. During this time, they were responsible for one to two eroding machines. After completing their apprenticeship, they worked as a Toolmaker for three months until their studies in mechanical engineering began. From 2003 to 2007, they worked at BALDA Werkzeugbau- und Vorrichtungsbau GmbH as a Toolmaker. From 2008 to 2019, they worked at Daimler AG as a CFD Simulation Engineer. During their time there, they achieved the definition of CFD model standards and the development of a Java tool to automate CFD model creation to increase efficiency of processes. Tilmann also performed CFD simulations with a focus on exhaust gas aftertreatment systems, analyzing, interpreting and presenting simulation results in interdisciplinary project teams. In 2019, they began working at Daimler Truck AG as a Senior CFD Simulation Engineer. Currently, they are working at Monolith AI as a Customer Success Engineer.

Tilmann Oestreich completed their Vordiplom in Mechanical Engineering from Paderborn University in 2004. Tilmann then went on to pursue a Diplom-Ingenieur in Mechanical Engineering from University of Stuttgart, which they completed in 2008. During their time at University of Stuttgart, they also wrote two seminary papers: "Simulation of transsonic flow through the rotor of a low-pressure axial compressor" and "Verkehrszustandsschätzung unter Einbeziehung von Lkw-Daten". In 2021, they obtained a certification in Deep Learning from Coursera and in 2020, they obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera. Tilmann also holds a Design For Six Sigma - Green Belt certification from Daimler AG.
