Daniel Krappmann

Daniel Krappmann, PhD is Director of the Research Unit Cellular Signal Integration at Helmholtz Zentrum München – German Research Center for Environmental Health (GmbH) and Adjunct Professor at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, Faculty of Biology. His scientific research is focused on the regulation signaling pathways controlling adaptive and innate immune responses and how deregulations contribute to immune disorders and cancer. The work is dedicated to identify novel therapeutic targets for immunomodulation and develop drug candidates for preclinical and clinical proof of concept. His team developed the first small molecule MALT1 protease inhibitor compounds.

Dr. Krappmann received his PhD degree from the Free University Berlin. After conducting his postdoctoral training and leading a Junior Research Group at the Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin, he was appointed as a group leader at the Helmholtz Zentrum München, where he was promoted to his current position in 2012.
