Grier Carson

Library Director at Monroe County Public Library (Indiana)

Grier Carson has a strong background in library services and management. They began their career at Lake Forest Academy, where they worked as the Director of Library and Information Services from 2006 to 2013. During this time, they were responsible for overseeing the school's library and implementing academic technology initiatives.

In 2014, Carson moved on to the Putnam County Public Library, where they served as the Director. In this role, they managed all aspects of the library, including staff supervision, fiscal responsibilities, and policy development. They also initiated various projects, such as a renovation of the children's department and the introduction of Overdrive ebooks and video game collections.

Currently, Carson is working at the Monroe County Public Library in Indiana. They started in 2018 as the Access and Content Services Manager and later became the Associate Director. As of May 2022, Carson is serving as the Director of the library.

Grier Carson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from Indiana University Bloomington in the years 1997 to 2000. Later, from 2005 to 2006, they pursued a Master of Library & Information Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services, also at Indiana University Bloomington. Grier also holds a certification with the name "LC-1" from the Indiana State Library.
