Michael Simson has a diverse work experience in the field of psychiatry. Michael started their career as a Consulting Psychiatrist at Walden Behavioral Care in 2003. Michael then worked as a Psychiatrist and Medical Director at Ingraham, Inc., where they were responsible for the crisis stabilization unit and outpatient clinic. Michael also had a private practice as a Psychiatrist, focusing on general outpatient psychiatric care and management of patients with personality disorders.
In 2007, Simson became the Medical Director of the ACTION Program at Spring Harbor Hospital, where they implemented a DBT informed model to treat patients with recurrent psychiatric admissions, including those with Borderline Personality Disorder. Michael continued this role until 2012.
Simson then worked at Rochester Mental Health Center and Rochester General Hospital as a Psychiatrist from 2012 to 2015. In 2014, they also joined the PROS Program at DePaul Community Services as a Consulting Psychiatrist, providing treatment to patients and collaborating with the Program Director.

Michael Simson completed their education at Harvard University. From 1991 to 1995, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry. Subsequently, they attended Harvard Medical School from 1995 to 2000, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. Alongside their education, Michael Simson acquired additional certifications. These include Dialectical Behavior Therapy from Behavioral Tech, LLC, acquired in 2007, and a Board Certification in Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc.
