Valerie Shay is an accomplished educator with extensive experience in instructional coaching and faculty development across multiple institutions. Currently serving as the Instructional Coach of Education Technology at Monrovia Unified School District since October 2022, Valerie fosters equitable and inclusive learning environments for TK-12 educators. Valerie has held various roles at North-West College and Success Education Colleges as Associate Director of Faculty Development and Education Technology since August 2019. Additionally, Valerie has contributed as an instructor at Mt Sierra College, Fayetteville Technical Community College, and the College of DuPage, focusing on curriculum development and innovative teaching methods. Valerie's earlier experience includes serving as a trainer at The Walt Disney Company and as an educational reformer at Inquiry Bridge, LLC, where Valerie implemented development plans and mentored faculty. Valerie holds a Master's degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from Claremont Graduate University and a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Culture from the University of Illinois Chicago.
