Jeff Field, MS, currently serves as the Director of Security and Emergency Management at the Monterey Bay Aquarium since January 2024. Prior to this role, Jeff Field spent over 22 years with the City of Monterey, retiring as Division Chief, where responsibilities included overseeing emergency response planning, operations, and managing a budget of approximately $2M while supervising 25 firefighting staff and responding to around 9,000 incidents annually. Jeff Field also held the positions of Captain and Fire Engineer in Pacific Grove, focusing on fire control and developing aquatic emergency response collaborations. Earlier in the career, Jeff Field worked as an Ocean Lifeguard for California State Parks, ensuring the safety of beachgoers and providing water rescues. Jeff Field holds a Master of Science in Marine Science from Moss Landing Marine Laboratories and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Chemistry from San José State University.
