Spencer Fontenay

Spencer Fontenay, CFRE, is an accomplished fundraising professional currently serving as the Director of Donor Relations at Monterey Bay Aquarium since September 2019, where strategic oversight of a six-person philanthropy team has supported donor-giving programs yielding over $10M annually. Previously, Spencer held roles including Donor Relations Manager for the Packard Circle, successfully raising over $5M annually, and Donor Relations Officer, exceeding a $1M annual giving goal by obtaining $1.5M. Before joining Monterey Bay Aquarium, Spencer was the Director of Institutional Advancement at All Saints Day School, where efforts in annual funds and capital campaigns raised over $7M and earned commendation from the CAIS accreditation team. Spencer's early career included positions as Private Client Services Manager at Monterey Trust Management and Controller at Irving Plaza. Spencer holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication, Political Science, and Government from Emerson College.
