Doug Cherry has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Doug began their career at the Headquarters, Department of the Army, working as a Branch Chief and focused logistics required staff officer. Following that, they served as the Chief and Sustainment Branch Chief in the Force Integration Division at the Office of the Chief of Army Reserve, where they were responsible for coordinating and developing courses of action for organizational changes. Doug then became the Chief Initiatives Division and later the LTC, Chief of Requirements at the Office of the Chief of Army Reserve, where they led divisions responsible for strategic organizational planning, manpower plans, and force management policies. In 2011, Doug joined the NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan/Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan as the LTC, CJ-38, Chief of Requirements, overseeing force management for building the Afghan National Security Forces. After that, they joined the Office of the Chief of Army Reserve and the United States Army Reserve Command as the Colonel, Director, Force Programs, and Organizational Change Manager. Prior to their current role, Doug worked as the Commanding General at the 76th Operational Response Command and held various positions within the command, including Deputy Commanding General and Chief of Staff. Currently, they serve as the Chief Executive Officer of Monterey Technologies, Inc.

Doug Cherry earned a Master's degree in Military Strategic Studies, General from The United States Army War College in the year 2010. Prior to this, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Sports and Exercise from Montana State University-Bozeman in the year 1993.
