Gloria Aparicio Blackwell

Second Vice Chair at Montgomery College

Ms. Gloria Aparicio Blackwell was appointed by Governor Larry Hogan to serve a third term on the Board of Trustees on July 1, 2020. She was appointed in 2009 to serve for the remainder of a six-year term that had begun on July 1, 2008. She was later appointed to a full term in 2014. Ms. Aparicio Blackwell served as chair of the Board of Trustees from 2019 to 2020.

Ms. Aparicio-Blackwell is the Director of the Office of Community Engagement at the University of Maryland College Park under the Division of Administration & Finance. She has worked for the University for more than 19 years. Her primary role is to contribute to the University’s commitment to the land grant mission, as well as, the overall efforts in making the University of Maryland a “Greater College Town”.
