Suzanne Lofhjelm

Suzanne Lofhjelm, MPP, currently serves as a Senior Legislative Aide for the Montgomery County Council, where responsibilities include managing health and human services, education, and affordable housing policy portfolios. Prior experience includes roles in Montgomery County Public Schools, as an independent contractor providing educational support, and founding SML Solutions, which developed a volunteer-based service model in North Carolina. Lofhjelm has held significant positions in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, overseeing constituent services and developing policy expertise across various local government matters. Additional experience includes leadership at Interfaith Works and event strategizing focused on gun violence prevention at Saint Mark Presbyterian Church. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Policy from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts from Dickinson College, complemented by studies at Universidad de Málaga.
