Siri Basak

Siri Basak has extensive experience in elementary education, currently serving as a 1st Grade Teacher at Wood Acres Elementary School and previously as a 2nd Grade Teacher and Reading Initiative Teacher at Monocacy Elementary School within Montgomery County Public Schools since July 2019. Prior to this role, Siri held various teaching positions at Brooke Charter Schools from 2014 to 2019, including founding roles as a 3rd Grade Teacher and a 1st Grade Teacher. Additionally, experience includes founding 2nd Grade Teacher roles at two campuses within the UNO Charter School Network from 2009 to 2014 and serving as a Corps Member for Teach For America from 2009 to 2011. Siri earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and German, along with a Master of Arts in Teaching, Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Dominican University, respectively. Further educational experiences include study abroad programs in Germany, Ireland, and Austria.
