Vinesh Umanee

Vinesh Umanee is an experienced professional in the regulatory and compliance sectors, currently serving as Director of Strategy and Regulatory Outreach in the Regulatory Division at the Montréal Exchange since May 2023. Prior roles include Policy Counsel in Member Regulation at CIRO/OCRI, Senior Advisor in Regulatory Affairs at Montréal Exchange, and Associate Supervisory Manager at Sun Life Financial. Vinesh has also held leadership positions in compliance at PEAK Financial Group and the Bank of Montreal, along with a background in legal affairs as a Chief Examiner at the Financial Services Commission. Vinesh holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB-Hons) from Northumbria University and has completed various professional courses in compliance and investment management.
