Zehra Karim

Zehra Karim, PE, PMP, currently serves as the Director of the Department of Water & Sewer for Montville Township, a position held since January 2025. Prior to this role, Zehra worked as Supervising Engineer for the City of Newark from March 2022 to January 2025 and held multiple engineering positions at Southeast Morris County Municipal from August 2018 to March 2022, including Senior Engineer and Project Engineer. Freelance work as a Civil Engineer took place from May 2017 to August 2018, assisting municipalities in New York State with NYS DOH/EFC Water Infrastructure Improvement Act grant funding. Previous experience includes Project Manager at Pure Technologies and Project Engineer at ARCADIS-US, Inc., where Zehra focused on water utility design projects. Early career roles involved engineering and consultancy for various municipalities and air quality monitoring at IUCN. Educational background includes an MS in Environmental Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a BE in Civil Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology.
