Ramón Argüello has a diverse work experience in the field of software development. Ramón started their career as a Software Developer Intern at Telefónica I+D in 2006, where they worked on projects related to IVR systems and language localization. After that, they joined Vicorp as a Voice Application Developer, where they gained experience in developing IVR and speech services using VoiceXML and Vicorp xMP.
In 2009, Ramón joined Verizon Business as a Solutions Engineer, where they specialized in developing enterprise mobile applications for iOS and Android using Nuance Mobile Speech Platform and RESTful APIs. Ramón also worked on integration projects with Microsoft OCS using .NET Framework and Microsoft Unified Communications Managed API.
From 2010 to 2016, Ramón worked at two different companies simultaneously. At Yell, they served as an iOS and Android Developer, responsible for developing the Yell.com app and Yell Sales Tools for iPad. At the same time, they worked as the Owner and Developer at Jamonapps, where they focused on developing the Achording Tabs app for iOS and Android, as well as creating the associated API and services infrastructure.
In 2012, Ramón joined Twitter as an iOS Tech Lead and Senior Software Engineer. Ramón led the London iOS team and worked on various projects, including the official Twitter client for iOS, Twitter Live Video, and Twitter TV and Sports timelines. Ramón also contributed to the development of Twitter for Android and TweetDeck for Chrome and Web using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
Later, in 2017, Ramón joined Verse, which was eventually acquired by Square. Ramón held the position of Senior iOS Engineer and contributed to the development of the Verse app.
Most recently, Ramón has been working at Monzo Bank as the iOS Lead/Senior Engineer, starting from August 2019.
Ramón Argüello completed their primary and secondary education at Colegio Villa de Móstoles from 1988 to 2001. After that, they attended the Móstoles Rodolfo Halffter Music Conservatory from 1995 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in Music. In 2001, they enrolled in Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and completed a BSc + MSc degree in Computer Science, which took him until 2007 to complete.
In 2007, Ramón also attended a Summer Workshop in Robotics at The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University. Additionally, they pursued further studies in Artificial Intelligence through an online course at ai-class.com in 2011. Ramón obtained a certification in Introduction to Artificial Intelligence from Udacity in December 2011.
