Brian Kutner

Vice President of Operations at Moon Surgical

Brian Kutner has over 20 years of experience in the medical device and optical engineering industries. Brian began their career in 2001 as an Optical Engineer at IOA, where they developed automated manufacturing test platforms for erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) products. In 2002, they moved to IFOS as an Optical Engineer, where they performed product development on fiber bragg grating (FBG) sensor products and evanescent coupler fabrication. In 2003, they joined Bookham (formerly Onetta) as an Optical Manufacturing Engineer, managing production lines and new product introductions. From 2005 to 2014, they worked at Cepheid as an Optical Manufacturing Engineer, Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, and Senior Director of Manufacturing Engineering. In 2017, they joined Auris Surgical Robotics, Inc. as Director of Systems Manufacturing Engineering, where they were responsible for both NPI engineering and manufacturing activities. Brian is currently the Vice President of Operations at Moon Surgical.

Brian Kutner completed a Bachelor of Science in Optics from the University of Rochester between 1995 and 1999. Brian then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona between 1999 and 2001. In 2012, they attended the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business for an Executive Education Course in Finance for Non-Financial Executives. In 2016, they attended the same school for an Executive Education Course in Product Management.
