Ben Harries has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ben currently serves as the Director of Service Delivery at Moonee Valley City Council. Prior to this role, they were a Registered Professional Engineer (RPEng) in management at RPEng Professionals Australia.

In 1996, Ben Harries obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Victoria University.

Prior to their university education, Ben Harries completed their VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) at St Bernard's College Essendon in 1995.

In addition to their formal education, Ben Harries has obtained various certifications. Ben completed a course on Contract Law: From Trust to Promise to Contract at Harvard Law School in September 2017. Ben also obtained certifications in Road Safety Audit from VicRoads and Risk Management for Projects from the University of Adelaide in September and August 2017, respectively.

Ben Harries has obtained numerous other certifications in various areas, including The Engineering of Structures Around Us from Dartmouth College in July 2015, Introduction to Steel from Tenaris in June 2015, Urban Water - Innovations for Environmental Sustainability from The University of British Columbia in May 2015, Water for Liveable and Resilient Cities from Monash University in April 2015, and The Biology of Water and Health from Tufts University in December 2014.

Lastly, Ben Harries obtained a certification in Landfill Management from Kangan Institute in August 2001.
