Joana Melo

Joana Melo is a seasoned medical and regulatory writer currently serving as a Senior Specialist at MoonLake Immunotherapeutics since July 2025. Prior experience includes a role as a Medical Writer at W4Research, where Joana focused on the creation of clinical and regulatory documents, participated in meetings with key opinion leaders, mentored fellow writers, and managed various projects across therapeutic areas. Joana contributed to the medical writing field through leading workshops as a Trainer at “Becoming... a Medical Writer.” Academic credentials include a PhD from the ICBAS- Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences, complemented by a Master's and Licentiate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Porto. Prior research experience at IPATIMUP and ICBAS involved significant contributions to cancer research and the study of Helicobacter pylori's role in pathogenesis.
