Maher Almanakly began their work experience as a Senior Engineer at Thornton Tomasetti in 1991, where they worked until 1996. Maher then joined Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. in 1997 as Vice President of Convertible Bond Technology, a role they held until 2002. From 2002 to 2004, they served as Vice President of Program Trading Technology at Lehman Brothers. In 2004, they joined Sagamore Capital as Head of Front Office Technology, and in 2005, they transitioned to Moore Capital Management as Head of Trade Execution Technology. Maher Almanakly attended Damascus University from 1984 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Civil Engineering. Maher then pursued further education at Manhattan College from 1989 to 1991, earning a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Civil Engineering. Lastly, they attended Columbia University from 1991 to 1996, where they obtained a degree in Mechanics Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
