Richard Muirhead has been involved in a variety of roles in the tech industry since 2009. In 2017, they became the Chairman & Managing Partner of Fabric Ventures, investing in and building technologies and applications in the decentralised, Web3 or OpenWeb arena. In the same year, they also became an Advisor to Ocean Protocol and Orchid, a suite of open source tools and cryptographic protocols. In 2016, they became a Member Board of Directors of Cronofy. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Venture Partner and General Partner of OpenOcean. In 2009, they co-founded, became Chairman & Managing Partner and Partner of Firestartr. In 2019, they became a Member of Council of the NEAR Foundation. In 2022, they will become an Industrial Professor at UCL, teaching the module in 'Portfolio Management and Asset Allocation in Venture Capital' and will also become a Director of Moralis Web3. In 2017, they also became a Member Board of Directors of Bitrise.
Richard Muirhead attended the University of Cambridge from 1991 to 1994, where they earned a MA in Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Westminster School, London, United Kingdom from 1985 to 1990, where they studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Russian.
