Alison Donnelly is an experienced professional with a diverse background in communications, marketing, and journalism. Alison is currently the Chief Executive Officer at More than Equal. Prior to their current role, they founded and served as an author for scrumqueens.com, an award-winning website dedicated to promoting women's sports, particularly rugby.
Alison has also held leadership positions at various organizations, including Sport England, where they worked as the Executive Director of Digital, Communications & Marketing. Alison served as the Prime Minister's Deputy Official Spokesperson & Head of News at 10 Downing Street, where they managed a high-performing team and represented the Prime Minister in press briefings. Additionally, they worked at HM Treasury as Head of News and later as the Head of Strategic Communications, providing media support to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Alison's experience includes working as a Senior Press Officer at the Cabinet Office, where they played a key role in implementing media strategies and communicating government policies. Alison also served as the Head of Communications & Marketing at Wasps Rugby, overseeing all communications channels for the club.
Prior to their roles in communications and marketing, Alison worked as a journalist at the Evening Echo, Marketing Mag, and as a freelance journalist. Alison received recognition for their work, including winning the Smurfit Business School's Regional Business Journalist of the Year award.
Throughout their career, Alison has been involved in promoting women's sports, advocating for diversity, and contributing to the development of reputable and effective communication strategies.
Alison Donnelly received a BSc in Government & Political Science from University College Cork, where they studied from 2000 to 2004.
