Emira Cherif's work experience includes serving as the Head of Agronomy Research at MORFO since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at IRD/Institut des sciences de l'évolution from January 2020 onwards and as a Chercheur postdoctoral from February 2014 to January 2020 at the same institution. In addition, they were a member of the Organization committee for Scientific Program & External Communication at Montpellier Omics Days from September 2018 onwards. Emira Cherif also worked as a Chercheur postdoctoral at Institut des Sciences de l'Évolution de Montpellier from October 2018 to July 2019.
