Ryun Patterson has a diverse work experience in the field of content creation, editing, and management. Ryun started their career as a Copy Editor at The Shawano Leader in 1997 and then worked as a Copy Editor at The Northwest Herald from 1998 to 1999. Ryun then joined The Cambodia Daily as a Night Editor, where they managed the copy desk and maintained high standards for accuracy and clarity in news stories. Afterward, they worked at Northwest Herald as the Night News Editor, managing night news operations and a six-person copy desk. In 2004, they joined Morningstar as a Copy Editor, where they edited stock analyses and published them on Morningstar.com. Ryun also served as the Managing Editor for Morningstar Advisor magazine, taking control of 80% of the magazine's content administration. Ryun later became a Principal Content Designer and then a Senior Principal Content Designer at Morningstar, where they wrote, edited, and defined content strategies for various marketing teams. Ryun also created a multimedia ebook titled "Vanishing Act: A Glimpse into Cambodia's World of Magic" under The Vanishing Act Project. Overall, Ryun Patterson has over two decades of experience in content creation, editing, and management roles.

Ryun Patterson obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma, where they studied from 1992 to 1996.
