Rusty Wood's work experience starts from 2005 at West Hills Construction, Inc. where they started as General Superintendent, then as a Project Manager, and later as Vice President-Superintendent. As Executive Vice President, they managed and was responsible for all activities within the company's Energy Division, and handled all legal matters pertaining to the company. Rusty negotiated and executed long-term contracts with distribution and transmission feed-in tariff programs domestically and internationally and oversaw the estimation process of all project costs during the bidding and development process working closely with engineering, drafting, and procurement departments to ensure accuracy and realistic bid packages. Wood has recently joined Morpho Energy in 2021 as Chief Development Officer.

Rusty Wood has pursued various degrees in different fields of study. In 2001-2003, they attended Fullerton College and obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts, as well as another Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General. Rusty then attended Western Governors University in 2018-2019 to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management. From 2019-2021, Rusty attended Western Governors University again to obtain a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus on Business Administration, Management, and Operations. No information is available on Rusty's education before Fullerton College but they did attend Ruben S. Ayala, where they did not obtain any degree.
