Rev. Aaron T. Brown, Sr. is a graduate of Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. After graduation, he matriculated to Morris College in Sumter, SC majoring in Recreation Administration. At Morris, Rev. Brown served as President of the Morris College Branch of the NAACP, Vice-President of the Morris College Cooperative Education Club, Student Tutor for the Morris College Upward Bound Program, and VicePresident of the Morris College Freshmen Class 2000-2001. Upon graduating from Morris College with honors, Rev. Brown attended Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio and earned a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. He then relocated to Atlanta, GA to attend Mercer’s University-McAfee School of Theology, where he graduated with his Masters of Divinity with a concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling. Rev. Brown was licensed to preach on July 18, 2004 at the Moncks Corner Baptist Church, Moncks Corner, South Carolina under the leadership of his father Reverend Dr. Leon G. Brown, Sr. On May 17, 2009, Rev. Brown was ordained by the Antioch Baptist Association. While attending Morris College, Rev. Brown was a member of the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, SC under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Derrie L. Grant. At Cedar Grove, he served as the youth and adult Sunday school teacher on the fifth Sundays. While attending Bowling Green State University, Rev. Brown was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Derek Arnold I. where he served as an instructor in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Biblical Institute. As a seminary student at Mercer University, Rev. Brown served as Treasurer of the Minority Student Association of McAfee School of Theology. Rev. Brown has completed one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Emory Crawford Long Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia. While attending McAfee School of Theology, Rev. Brown was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church North under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Cameron M. Alexander. As a member of Antioch Baptist Church North, Rev. Brown was a member of the Antioch Ministerial Alliance, and the Co-Coordinator of the Good Grief (Bereavement) Ministry. As a member of the Ministerial Alliance, Rev. Brown was a part of the Outreach Ministry which included preaching at the Atlanta Union Mission Women Shelter, Antioch’s Food and Clothing Bank, Street Corner Evangelism, and ministering at the Fulton County Jail. Also, Rev. Brown was an Instructor in the Antioch Baptist Church North Baptist Training Union (BTU) for the Nursery Department and Christian Education Ministry. Rev. Brown was elected as Pastor of the Unity Missionary Baptist Church, Eutawville, South Carolina on March 14, 2010. Under Rev. Brown’s leadership, the membership has grown tremendously, the A. T. Brown Praise Dance Ministry was organized, every First Sunday is now dedicated to our Youth Ministry, Brotherhood, Jr. Brotherhood Track Team, Senior’s Ministry, Mass Choir, every 3rd Sunday-New Members Class with the Pastor, three new deacons added to the Deacon’s Ministry, Fall Festival for the Youth, and Finance Ministry was organized, and a new roof has been placed on the church. After twelve years of planning, coordinating, and saving the ground breaking ceremony of the new fellowship hall was held on October 9, 2011 and on Sunday, May 27, 2012 the members of Unity marched into it. Also, Rev. Brown served as the Instructor of the Morris College School of Religion, Pineville Extension. Rev. Brown serves as Co-Chair of the Young Pastor Division, and he is a member of the Executive Board of the Educational and Missionary Baptist Convention of SC. Rev. Brown is the recipient of the 2014 Outstanding Alumnus Minister Award by the Morris College National Alumni Association. Rev. Brown is happily married to the love of his life, Devora S. Brown of Moncks Corner, SC and the proud father of Aaron T. Brown, Jr and Alana Grace Brown.
