Reverend Albert M. James, Ed.D., DRS is a native of Camden, South Carolina, the seventh of ten children born to Deacon and Mrs. Elias James. This ordained and anointed man of God became pastor of Second Providence Baptist Church in May 1981. When he became of age, he gave his life to Christ and became a member of the Gaines Baptist Church, Camden, SC where he grew in religious values and faith in Jesus Christ. Since giving his life to Christ, Dr. James has been a faithful servant of the Lord. After moving to Augusta, Georgia, he united with the Greater Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, Bible Study teacher, Chairman of the Board of Deacons, Bus Ministry, Youth Ministry, Choir Member, and others. He has always enjoyed serving the Lord and being a blessing to others.

Dr. James was educated in the public schools of Camden, South Carolina where he received his diploma from Jackson High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Benedict College, Columbia, South Carolina; a Master of Education from South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina; Doctorate of Educational Administration, Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Doctorate of Religious Studies, Trinity Theological Seminary, Newburgh, Indiana; and further study at Fort Valley State College, Fort Valley, Georgia; Georgia Southern College, Statesboro, Georgia, The University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina, The University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia and Interdenominational Theological Seminary, Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia.
