Mariamelia Miranda is a dedicated Special Education Teacher with experience at Morris Jeff Community School since July 2020 and at Andrew Jackson Middle School from July 2018 to July 2020. Prior roles include an internship at The Blue House Gallery and Studios between January 2017 and May 2018, and serving as a Facilities Assistant at the University of Dayton from May to September 2017. Mariamelia also worked as an Art Teacher at Dakota Center in the summer of 2016, where the development of a full curriculum for a summer camp was a key responsibility, and as a Teacher Assistant at YMCA San Juan during June to August 2015. Mariamelia earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine/Studio Arts from the University of Dayton in 2018.

This grassroots approach to educational reform has created Morris Jeff as one of the most racially and economically diverse public schools in the history of New Orleans.
