Chris Burke began their work experience as an Apprentice Turner at McQuillan Engineering, where they received training in machining and assembly for the nuclear industry. Chris then worked as a Machinist at the same company, focusing on machining metal components. Afterward, they became an Estimator/Planner, preparing time and price estimates for quotations and developing their first software package.
Following their time at McQuillan Engineering, Chris Burke worked at BNFL as a Management Trainee, where they gained experience in pipeline inspection and design. Chris Burke then filled the role of Group Engineering Director at Churchill China Plc, overseeing engineering across multiple industrial potteries. Chris successfully delivered a capital program to expand plant output and improve quality.
Currently, Chris Burke is employed at Morson Projects, where they have held several positions. Chris began as a Stress Engineer before moving up to become a Project Director, playing a key role in project management and trouble-shooting. Chris went on to become the Operations Director, where they designed and established a Project Information Management System. Chris'smost recent position at Morson Projects is Executive Director, leading the Morson Engineering Board as Managing Director and delivering engineering solutions to various sectors.
Chris Burke obtained a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Manchester Polytechnic from 1982 to 1986 and an MBA in Business Administration from Aston University from 1994 to 1999. Additionally, they have additional certifications including being a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE) obtained in May 2011 and being a Chartered Mechanical Engineer (CEng) obtained in August 1994. Chris has also completed various courses in CSS, HTML, and the Command Line at Codecademy in 2023.
