Susan Jacobson

Susan Jacobson, FASLA, PLA, currently serves as the Head of Site Planning & Design at The Morton Arboretum, a position held since 2009, where Susan also previously worked as the Manager of Planning and Site Design. Before joining The Morton Arboretum, Susan owned Bartells/Jacobson Design from 1991 to 2009, a landscape architectural firm specializing in public work, park and recreation design, and commercial landscape planning. Susan's leadership experience includes serving as Past President of the American Society of Landscape Architects from 2003 to 2004. Earlier in her career, Susan worked as a Park Planner for the Arlington Heights Park District from 1983 to 1990, overseeing the design and development of over 550 acres across fifty-three park sites. Susan holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
