Rebecca McAvoy

Trainee Solicitor at Morton Fraser

Rebecca McAvoy is a trainee solicitor in the Employment division.

Rebecca advises both employees and employers on a range of employment law matters including contractual issues, equal pay, discrimination claims, unfair dismissal and industrial relations.

Rebecca graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a First Class LLB Law with English Law degree in 2020. She then went on to complete the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh in 2021.

During her time at University, Rebecca was a member of the Aberdeen Law Project, helping to bridge the gap of legal inequality in the North East, and is particularly proud of her role in aiding students from disadvantaged schools to gain a place at university to study law through the Ambassadors scheme.

Prior to joining Morton Fraser, Rebecca has undertaken work experience in a variety of legal fields, allowing her to gain insight into and a broader understanding of the legal sector. In addition, prior to commencing her traineeship, Rebecca worked as an Administrative Assistant within the Private Client team in Edinburgh. She has greatly benefitted from this experience by developing a wider knowledge base and an awareness of issues within this sector.
