Naveen Rao

Naveen Rao's work experience includes roles at various companies and organizations. Naveen served as the VP of Generative AI at Databricks starting in 2023. Prior to that, they were on the scientific advisory board at Allen Institute and a board member at Beacon Biosignals, both starting in 2019. In 2020, they became a board member at NeuReality, a company that focuses on scalable inference in the datacenter. In 2022, they joined Luminous Computing as a board member. From 2017 to 2020, they were a board member at Square. At Intel Corporation, they held the positions of CorpVP and General Manager of Artificial Intelligence Products Group from 2017 to 2020, and Vice President and General Manager from 2016 to 2017. Naveen Rao also co-founded and served as CEO of Nervana from 2014 to 2016, and was a researcher at Qualcomm from 2012 to 2014, focusing on neuromorphic machines and neural computation.

Naveen Rao received their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Duke University in 1997. Naveen then attended Stanford University in 1997-1998 to study Electrical Engineering. Naveen later obtained their PhD in Neuroscience from Brown University in 2011.
