Deborah Carliner

VP at Mosaic Theater Company

Deborah Carliner has been on Mosaic’s Board since it was founded in 2015 and was its first President. She remains on the Board and the Executive Committee and is chair of the Governance Committee and a member of the Nominating and Finance Committees. She is a former President of the ACLU-DC and sits on its Board. Debbie is a lawyer, who practiced civil rights and civil liberties law and appreciates Mosaic’s commitment to free speech issues and other civil rights topics.

As a native Washingtonian, Debbie has experienced the many changes to the city. She has seen Washington go from a two-theater city to one with over 90 theaters, more than any other city in the country other than New York. She is proud of the role that Mosaic plays in the vital theater scene here in presenting provocative plays that explore issues no other theater does.
