Javier Pujols is an emerging researcher in marine sciences with extensive experience in environmental studies. Currently serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Javier focuses on carbon and alkalinity dynamics as part of the Chesapeake Bay Alkalinity group. Previously, as an Undergraduate Researcher at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium, Javier investigated in situ variability for red tide mitigation. Additional experience includes fieldwork on young mangrove survivorship at the University of South Florida and an internship at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, where engagement with the public about coral ecology was a highlight. Javier's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida and ongoing Master's studies in Marine Sciences at both the Virginia Institute of Marine Science and William & Mary.
