Sitar Kortik

Sitar Kortik has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting with their current position as an R&D Engineer at Motherson Innovations, which they joined in September 2022. Prior to this, Sitar worked as a Research Associate at Fraunhofer IPA from June 2018 to June 2022. They also served as a Software & IT Consultant at the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Industry General Directorate of EU and Foreign Affairs from January 2017 to December 2017.

Before transitioning to consultancy, Sitar worked at Bilkent University for several years. They held the positions of Research and Teaching Assistant from September 2007 to September 2017, and Instructor from December 2013 to January 2015. In addition, Sitar gained international exposure as a Visiting Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University from February 2012 to September 2012.

Prior to their academic roles, Sitar gained early experience as a Software Specialist and ERP Consultant at Prosoft Software and Consulting Company from September 2006 to September 2007. Overall, Sitar Kortik's work experience showcases a strong background in research, teaching, consultancy, and engineering fields.

Sitar Kortik's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Dokuz Eylul University, which was obtained between 2001 and 2006. Following that, Sitar pursued a Master's degree in Robotics task planning and Automated theorem proving at Bilkent University from 2007 to 2010. After completing the Master's program, Sitar continued their education at Bilkent University, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Engineering between 2010 and 2017. In 2012, Sitar also had the opportunity to be a Visiting Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, studying Computer Science.
