Michael Schlesinger has a diverse work experience. Michael started their career in 1984 as a Freelance Actor at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Michael also worked as an English Lit instructor at Obirin University from 1989 to 1991. In 1997, they became the Associate General Counsel at the International Intellectual Property Alliance (IIPA), where they worked until 2015. From 2011 to 2015, they served as Counsel at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP. In 2015, they joined the Motion Picture Association as the Vice President and Regional Legal Counsel, Asia Pacific. Simultaneously, they were a Vocalist (Tenor/Baritone) at the Singapore Symphony Group until 2018. In 2004, they became a Professorial Lecturer in Law at The George Washington University Law School, a role they held until 2015. From 2007 to 2011, they worked as an Attorney at Greenberg Traurig, LLP. Most recently, in 2019, they became a Recording Artist at Universal Music Group.
Michael Schlesinger has a Doctor of Law (JD) degree in Intellectual Property Law from Columbia Law School. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Oberlin College. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications through LinkedIn, including Bystander Training: From Bystander to Upstander, Communicating Across Cultures, Communicating about Culturally Sensitive Issues, Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, Skills for Inclusive Conversations, and Unconscious Bias.
