Kenneth D. Denman is a general partner at Sway Ventures. He was the president and chief executive officer of Emotient, Inc., from October 2012 to January 2016. He also served as the chief executive officer of Openwave Systems Inc. from November 2008 to September 2011 and as a director from April 2004 to September 2011, and he served as the chief executive officer and president of iPass, Inc., from October 2001 to November 2008, as a director from 2001 to 2008, and as chairman from 2003 to 2008.
Denman is a member of the board of directors of Costco Wholesale Corporation and VMware, Inc., and previously served on the board of directors of LendingClub Corporation.
Previously, Denman served as a director of the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) from January 2011 to January 2012 and as a director of United Online, Inc., from June 2015 to July 2016.
Denman was appointed to the Edward V. Fritzky Endowed Chair in Leadership at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business as a visiting professor in September 2012, he is a board member of the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business, and he sits on the board of directors at the University of Washington Foundation. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Seattle Children’s Hospital. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Central Washington University and an MBA in finance and international business from the University of Washington.
