Richard Whiteley

Richard Whiteley is an experienced professional in the water industry with a robust background in civil and structural engineering. Currently serving as Design Manager at Mott MacDonald Bentley since September 2023, Richard oversees various frameworks projects for Yorkshire Water, including wetlands and wastewater treatment works. Previous roles include Service Group Manager at GHD, where Richard managed numerous teams on large-scale water infrastructure projects, and Tyne and Humber Branch Chair at CIWEM facilitating regional events. Richard's career began in 2003 with engineering positions at firms such as MWH Global and Arup, complemented by academic achievements including a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and Project Management from the University of Leeds.
