Mary Shanks has a diverse work experience in operations and management roles. Mary began their career at Helen of Troy in 2005 as Director of Customer Service, overseeing customer service for various divisions. In 2007, they joined Mount Franklin Foods as Vice President of US Operations, where they managed food manufacturing operations and distribution locations. Mary returned to Helen of Troy in 2010 as Director of Operations for the Southaven, MS distribution center, responsible for inbound receipts, outbound shipping, and quality/vendor compliance. In 2012, Mary joined Nike as an Operations Manager, before returning to Mount Franklin Foods in 2016 as Director of Operations.

Mary Shanks attended Northeast Christian Academy for an unspecified period of time. Mary then went on to study at The University of Texas at El Paso, where they also did not complete a specific degree or field of study.
