Veterinary Neurologist/neurosurgeon at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital

Tara Tischio is a dedicated veterinary professional currently serving as a Neurology Resident at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island since July 2020, having previously completed a Neurology Specialty Internship at the same institution. Prior to this, Tara was recognized as Intern of the Year during a Small Animal Rotating Veterinary Internship at the Veterinary Emergency & Referral Group from June 2019 to July 2020. Educational achievements include a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Prince Edward Island and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Classics from Colby College. Tara's research experience includes presenting a study on the effects of leashed walks on hospitalized canines at the Ingelheim-Boehringer Veterinary Student Research Symposium and winning Peer’s Choice for best poster at the Atlantic Veterinary College Summer Student Research Poster Session. Additional internship experiences include roles at the Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center and The Raptor Trust.
