Mount Vernon
Grace Gordon is an Archaeological Technician at George Washington's Mount Vernon since August 2023. Previously, Grace served as a Research Associate at Morgan, Angel & Associates, focusing on historical research related to Superfund and Natural Resource issues from June 2022 to August 2023. Prior experience includes roles as a Madison Art Collection Intern and an Archaeology Lab Technician at James Madison University, where responsibilities included researching, photographing, and cataloging artifacts, as well as sorting and inventorying archaeological materials. Additionally, Grace was a Teaching Assistant for Historical Archaeology and worked as a Mary Bishop Carter Intern at the Historic Staunton Foundation, developing an advocacy project for historic preservation through an ArcGIS Esri Story Map. Grace holds a dual major in History and Applied Public History and Archaeology from James Madison University, obtained in 2022.

Mount Vernon
George Washington’s Mount Vernon is the historic home of George and Martha Washington, located 13 miles south of Washington, DC. Guests can see the historic mansion, stately rooms, and outbuildings preserved to the year 1799, the last year of George Washington’s life. Owned and operated by the Mount Vernon Ladies Association, George Washington’s Mount Vernon has been visited by world leaders since its opening to the public in the 1860s . In addition to the mansion, one can visit our beautiful gardens, a working farm engaged in 18th century agriculture, two museums, heritage breed animals, and the most majestic view across the Potomac River. We also welcome guests to dine at our Mount Vernon Inn or grab a meal at our Food Court Pavilion.
