Desmond Wallace is an experienced professional with a diverse background in education, law enforcement, and ministry. Currently serving as Project Director and Assistant Director for Upward Bound at McNeese State University since June 2018, Desmond has also held the position of Senior Pastor at Mount Zion Baptist Church since April 2015. Prior experience includes working as a Deputy Sheriff and Detective at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office from October 2000 to June 2018, specializing in law enforcement and community relations. Desmond holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Social & Criminal Justice from The University of Arizona Global Campus, as well as a Master of Arts in Ministry, Practical Theology from Ohio Christian University, and an Associate of Applied Technology in Criminal Justice from SOWELA Technical Community College.

PURPOSE STATEMENT (Our reason for existing) The Mount Zion Baptist Church exists to connect lost souls and living saints with a Loving Savior (Jesus Christ)...through emulating His works and sharing the redemptive message of the CROSS.
