Suzan Brandt

Suzan Brandt has extensive experience in the education and technology field. Suzan began their career as an Instructional Technology Specialist at Hoover City Schools in 1994. After working there for 15 years, they then became the Technology Coordinator at Mountain Brook Junior High School in 2009. In 2015, Suzan took on the role of Organizer for TEDxYouth@MBJH. Currently, they are the Director of Technology at Mountain Brook Schools, a position they have held since 2019.

Suzan Brandt has a solid education history in the field of education. Suzan started their educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University, where they studied from 1990 to 1994.

Building upon their undergraduate degree, Suzan pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Special Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. This advanced degree strengthened their expertise in special education and was completed between 1996 and 1998.

Suzan's thirst for knowledge and professional growth prompted their to pursue further education in the field of Educational Leadership. Suzan obtained an Administrative Certification from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which they completed in 2003. This certification further expanded their skills and knowledge in educational leadership.

Continuing their commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in their field, Suzan pursued an Education Specialist (Ed.S) degree in Educational Technology from Lesley University. From 2007 to 2009, they delved into the study of educational technology, equipping herself with the necessary skills and knowledge in this emerging field.

To complement their educational achievements, Suzan has also obtained additional certifications throughout their career. One of their notable certifications is attending the ASU+GSV Summit in 2022, organized by the ASU+GSV Summit institution.
