Matthew Alexander

Matthew Alexander is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the VP of Finance at MEC since February 2024. Previously, Matthew held the position of Chief Financial Officer and VP of Finance at BuildDirect Technologies from December 2020 to February 2024, where responsibilities included overseeing financial reporting, corporate development, treasury, tax, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A). Prior to that, Matthew was the Senior Manager of FP&A at Hootsuite from November 2017 to December 2020, leading the annual planning process and delivering key financial analyses that enhanced profitability. Matthew has also worked as a manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at Dome Productions and spent a brief period as a full-time dad. Matthew holds a Chartered Accountant designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and a BA in Economics from the University of Victoria.
