Cindy Shi is an Equipment Designer at Mountain Hardwear, specializing in the design of backpacks, sleeping bags, and tents since October 2022. Concurrently, Cindy serves as Program Coordinator for the Self Help Hunger Program with Oakland Communities United for Equity and Justice, which focuses on providing hot meals and culinary training in North Oakland. Previously, Cindy worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Lingrove, where involvement in flax fiber composites was key, and as a Product Development Manager at APLAT INC, overseeing production cycles and supply chain communication. Additionally, Cindy engaged as a Guest Lecturer addressing design and climate change at CSU Long Beach and provided behavioral therapy at ACES for youth on the autism spectrum. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Sustainable Design from Minneapolis College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
