Yifan (Ivan) Wang has worked at several companies since 2005. Yifan (Ivan) began their career as a Casual Internship at Agilent Technologies in 2005. In 2006, they took on the role of System Service Representative (IT Architecture) at IBM. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Visiting Researcher at UCLA and a Lecturer in Computational Electromagnetics and Advance Queensland Industry Fellow at the University of Queensland. Yifan (Ivan) also worked as an RFID System Engineer at LicenSys Group in 2013. From 2014 to 2020, Yifan was an Antenna R&D Lead at E M Solutions Pty Ltd, where they invented and proposed a holographic radiation mechanism and algorithms that generated modulated impedance surface for beamforming, and developed the tracking function of the antenna based on the beam squinting method. Currently, Yifan is a Principal Antenna/Packaging R&D Engineer at Movandi, where they drive technical and link budget analysis on new antenna proposals for targeted customers, designs and builds phased array antenna modules for 5G NR (over 28, 39, and 60GHz band), and implements stack up and packaging solutions and design for RFIC chip integration.
Yifan (Ivan) Wang obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Donghua University between 2002 and 2006. In March 2006, they received a certification as an RF Microwave Test Engineer from Agilent Technologies. From 2009 to 2012, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Queensland.
